Take four and a half minutes of your life and listen to Richard Seymour (of SeymourPowell in the UK), speaking at agIdeas 2008.

While the scenario of his story is about reducing cost based on (what the client thought was), a packaging problem. The moral can be applied to any aspect of design: know the whole story before you act.

I love how organic and simple these designs are for Pirie Tasmania by  Magnus Henriksen and Amandus Bjerk. I love seeing typography being used to its full potential, and I think it works absolutely perfectly here.

Now, it is a student work, so I don’t know if this is the packaging actually being used by Pirie Tasmania, but if it’s not, it really should be.

Dru Bru, an independent Seattle based brewery tasked me with developing the brand identity as well as designing their first product offering, a Mini Growler which is refillable. On the back of the Mini Growler there is an area to write the brew flavor and alcohol content which can be different each visit. It is a responsible way of distributing their product and at the same time creates a small community of like minded individuals.
